Milan-Led Outreach: 300 Volunteers Distribute 500,000 Drug-Prevention Booklets Across Italy

MILAN — 12 Feb. 2026 — Some 300 volunteers have been mobilised since January in multiple Italian cities to support a drug-prevention information drive, circulating prevention materials titled “The Truth About Drugs”. Organisers report that over 500,000 copies have already been handed out, with Milan at the forefront and wider participation growing.

The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign as part of its long-running backing for community-based drug education inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The materials aim to provide clear, accessible information about commonly abused substances and their risks.

The organisers further point to sports-community involvement. They say over 100 Milano Cortina 2026-linked athletes have signed the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, signalling support Drug Prevention for youth-focused prevention messaging. According to organisers, sport provides a natural platform for prevention conversations because it is associated with discipline, wellbeing and long-term performance.

Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, stated: “Across Europe, youth safeguarding is both a public-health goal and a civic responsibility. Verified, accessible information strengthens informed decision-making, and it helps communities reduce the social space in which criminal networks operate.”
